.SHORT TERM...
(Tonight through Thursday night)
Issued at 1218 PM CDT Tue Sep 2 2025

Scattered showers and thunderstorms continue this
afternoon in the vicinity of a stalled frontal boundary from about
20 miles offshore. None of this activity is expected to move toward
the coast. A few, diurnally driven, afternoon thunderstorms will be
possible, but the drier air aloft is expected to keep these below
normal.

The boundary off the coast will finally be pushed further out into
the gulf of Wednesday by another weak frontal boundary that will
push through the region. While this boundary may drop dewpoints a
couple of degrees, the airmass won`t be significantly different from
the one presently in place. The drier air aloft will mix down to the
surface each afternoon from Wednesday through Friday dropping
dewpoints into the mid to upper 60s which will make those afternoon
temperatures feel a bit less oppressive. With the drier air in
place, more sunshine and no appreciable precipitation is expected
Thursday or Friday.

.LONG TERM...
(Friday through next Monday)
Issued at 1218 PM CDT Tue Sep 2 2025

Guidance is in good agreement on moisture surging back into the
region this weekend as another frontal boundary works south across
the southern plains. It`s too early to say with any certainty
whether this boundary will make it through the area, but even if it
doesn`t, it will bring added cloud cover and precipitation Saturday
through early next week which will hold afternoon highs in the upper
80s.

.AVIATION...
(18Z TAFS)
Issued at 1227 PM CDT Tue Sep 2 2025

A couple of showers or thunderstorms can`t be ruled out this
afternoon, but probabilities are low so won`t explicitly mention
in tafs at this time. Otherwise, SCT fair weather cu this
afternoon will give way to mostly clear skies overnight. Light,
variable winds will prevail through the period.

.MARINE...
Issued at 1218 PM CDT Tue Sep 2 2025

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue across
the coastal waters beyond approximately 20 miles this afternoon
through Wednesday morning. The front responsible will push
further offshore during the day Wednesday bringing the
precipitation to an end. Brief periods of light offshore flow may
occur Wednesday with the passage of a weak frontal boundary, but
will turn back onshore Wednesday night where they will remain
through early next week. Seas will remain between 1 and 2 feet
over the next week.

&&

.FIRE WEATHER...
Issued at 1218 PM CDT Tue Sep 2 2025

Light and variable winds will prevail over the next
several days with a weak frontal boundary advecting some slightly
drier air into the region Wednesday. Minimum RH Values will range
from 45 to 55% each afternoon. A few afternoon showers or
thunderstorms can`t be ruled out this afternoon, but no
precipitation is expected again until Saturday.
