Open Lake Forecast for Lake Erie
National Weather Service Cleveland OH
948 AM EST Sun Nov 30 2025

For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Erie

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...
Low pressure will deepen to 29.70 inches as it tracks northeastward
from northern Lake Huron to southwestern Quebec by this early
evening. Accordingly, the trailing cold front over central Lake
Erie late this morning will exit the rest of Lake Erie by this
early afternoon. Behind the front, a trough averaging 30.10 inches
lingers over the lake through this early evening before a ridge
averaging 30.50 inches moves eastward across the Lake Erie region
tonight through Monday. During Monday night through Tuesday, a low
should deepen to 29.40 inches as it wobbles northeastward from
the northwestern Gulf to Atlantic waters near the Delmarva
Peninsula. Simultaneously, the low will extend a trough averaging
30.00 inches over Lake Erie. On Tuesday night through Wednesday, a
ridge averaging 30.50 inches should build from the Lower Ohio
Valley and vicinity before a cold front sweeps southeastward
across Lake Erie Wednesday night. Behind the cold front, a ridge
averaging 30.20 inches should build from the Upper Midwest through
Thursday before exiting slowly eastward Thursday night through
Friday.
