Open Lake Forecast for Lake Erie
National Weather Service Cleveland OH
929 PM EST Mon Dec 8 2025

For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Erie

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...
A high pressure ridge averaging 30.40 inches exits eastward,
which will allow a warm front to move northward across Lake Erie
tonight and toward central Ontario on Tuesday. On Wednesday, a low
should move east-northeastward along the aforementioned front and
deepen to 29.10 inches as the low advances from the southwestern
Great Lakes to southern Quebec. This low track should allow the
trailing cold front to sweep eastward across Lake Erie on
Wednesday. Behind the cold front, a trough averaging 29.90 inches
should linger over the Lake Erie region through Thursday. On
Friday, a ridge averaging 30.10 inches should build from the west
before a cold front sweeps generally eastward across Lake Erie on
Saturday.
