Open Lake Forecast for Lake Huron
National Weather Service Detroit/Pontiac MI
344 PM EDT Thu Oct 16 2025

For waters beyond five nautical miles off shore on Lake Huron

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...High pressure, 30.20 inches, is now located over
Michigan which will maintain light winds and dry weather today.
This system will wash out into the west Atlantic through the end
of the week while a low pressure system moves from the northern
Plains into west Ontario. This will strengthen the pressure
gradient over the Great Lakes through tomorrow and Saturday,
bringing elevated southwest flow across Lake Huron. Low pressure,
29.20 inches, will then rapidly develop and move over Michigan on
Sunday, bringing the potential for gales across portions of Lake
Huron.
