...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 715 PM CDT THIS
EVENING FOR NORTHWESTERN JEFFERSON AND NORTH CENTRAL ST. CHARLES
PARISHES...

At 615 PM CDT, the public reported flash flooding in Saint Rose and
Destrehan. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding
impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. Flash
flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

SOURCE...Public reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  New Orleans, Metairie, Avondale, Hahnville, Jefferson, Harahan,
  Westwego, St. Rose, Ama, Waggaman, River Ridge, Destrehan, Luling,
  Elmwood, New Sarpy, Norco, Bridge City, Boutte and New Orleans
  Armstrong Airport.

This includes the following Interstates...
Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 215 and 230.
Interstate 310 between mile markers 1 and 9.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
