...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 AM CST THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Louisiana, including the following
  parishes, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Livingston, Pointe
  Coupee, St. Helena, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Washington, West
  Baton Rouge and West Feliciana and southern Mississippi, including
  the following counties, Amite, Pike, Walthall and Wilkinson.

* WHEN...Until 830 AM CST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 538 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3.5 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Baton Rouge, Hammond, Zachary, Baker, Bogalusa, Covington,
    New Roads, Franklinton, Jackson, St. Francisville, Clinton,
    Greensburg, Amite, Amite City, Abita Springs, Kentwood,
    Livingston, Centreville, Independence and Varnado.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
