Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
1226 AM CDT Wed Oct 15 2025

.DISCUSSION...

High pressure will gradually move east of the area today and
Thursday, with a continued pattern of low relative humidity and
light winds. Minimum RH values will fall to between 30 and
40 percent over much of the area today. There will be a slight
increase in moisture levels will allow minimum RH values to rise
to between 40 and 50 percent for much of the area Thursday and
45 to 55 percent on Friday. The increasing moisture could also
support some patchy fog formation on Thursday and Friday mornings
for much of southern Mississippi and areas north and west of Lake
Pontchartrain in southeast Louisiana. A frontal passage will
bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms to the area late
Saturday into Sunday. After the front moves through, a drier
period of weather and return to northerly winds is expected for
early next week.
