Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
536 PM CDT Sat Aug 30 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Rain chances will remain high today across the southern half of
the area as deep moisture remains across the area. Afternoon
relative humidities are expected to remain above 60 percent
across most of the area. Drier air will begin working into the
area from the north on Sunday with afternoon relative humidities
falling into the 50 to 60 percent range to the north of the
Interstate 10 and 12 corridors. Areal coverage of precipitation
will also diminish across that area on Sunday. Winds are expected
to remain below 15 mph outside of thunderstorms, which will limit
any fire weather concerns.
