Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
1226 AM CDT Tue Sep 2 2025

.DISCUSSION...

With a front continuing to drift offshore, only isolated chances
of showers or storms are anticipated today across the southern
tier. Another front upstream may help develop afternoon
convection across southwest Mississippi, but coverage will be
lackluster. Afternoon RH values are likely to be in the 45 to
55 percent range for some areas north of the Interstate 10 and
12 corridors today and near or above 60 percent south of Lake
Pontchartrain. Winds will generally be light under 15 mph,
keeping fire weather concerns on the low side.
