Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
122 PM CDT Tue Aug 11 2026

.DISCUSSION...

As high pressure builds in we will begin to see fewer and fewer
storms each day through the week. With fewer storms and fewer
clouds we will also begin to see temps climb. Isolated storms are
still possible and will be highly diurnal with storms inland
during the day and either gone or over the coastal waters at
night. As for other fire weather concerns, winds will be light
and variable to calm overnight, and then winds around 5-10 kts
coming out of the southwest to southeast as the seabreeze
develops. Humidity values will be of no concern with min humidity
values generally remaining in the 40-60% range all week. No
critical fire weather concerns through the forecast period.
