Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
122 PM CDT Mon Aug 31 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Coverage of showers and thunderstorms will remain elevated
through much of the week as an active weather pattern takes hold
of the area. Rain totals will be highly dependent on where the
heavier thunderstorms move as a few storms will be capable of
producing locally heavy rainfall, especially in areas near the
coast. Afternoon minimum humidities will be well above critical
levels all week.
