Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
547 PM CDT Tue Sep 2 2025

.DISCUSSION...

A front will remain stalled along the coast of Louisiana and this
will keep relatively dry conditions in place for most of the
region tonight into tomorrow. RH values will fall to between
45 and 55 percent tomorrow and winds will be light. Fog
development is not expected across the area tonight into tomorrow
morning. A reinforcing front will move through tomorrow night and
this will keep the dry conditions in place through the end of the
week as . a high pressure system builds over the area. Minimum RH
values will remain low at 45 to 55 percent over this period. The
high pressure system will slide to the east over the weekend
allowing winds to turn southerly. Minimum RH values will rise to
between 50 and 60 percent and the risk of scattered afternoon
showers and storms will increase over the weekend and into early
next week.
