Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
329 PM CDT Wed May 21 2025

.DISCUSSION...

A frontal boundary has stalled near the Louisiana coast. Winds
will become lighter, while the prevailing direction will be more
northerly in the wake of the front. Relative humidities could
fall to near 35 percent near and north of Interstate 10 tomorrow
before recovering slightly on Friday. The light flow will also be
more susceptible to directional changes as a result of sea
breeze or other weak boundaries. By the weekend, the high will
shift toward Florida allowing for a persistent southeast wind
and higher minimum RH to take hold by the weekend in response
to the old boundary moving northward again as a warm front.
