Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
527 AM CDT Sat May 2 2026

.DISCUSSION...

The front that produced Friday`s beneficial wetting rain has
pushed offshore. Drier air will move into the area by afternoon
as high pressure approaches, and remain across the area through
Monday. Minimum afternoon humidity values will fall to 40 to
50 percent today, and 35 to 45 percent on Sunday and Monday. From
Tuesday onward, winds will become southerly and minimum humidity
values will begin to increase back to around 50 percent limiting
critical fire weather potential.
