Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
526 AM CDT Sat Oct 18 2025

.DISCUSSION...

High pressure has moved east of the area with relative humidities
moderating. Minimum RH values will likely be above 60 percent for
most of the area today. A cold front is expected to move through
the area late tonight into Sunday morning. Showers and
thunderstorms are expected to accompany the front, but areal
average rainfall amounts are expected to remain below one inch
across most or all of the area. Drier weather is again expected
behind this frontal passage, with minimum RH values near
40 percent Sunday afternoon, and possibly approaching critical
levels near and north of the Interstate 10/12 corridor Monday
afternoon.
