Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
652 AM CDT Sun Aug 30 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Coverage of showers and thunderstorms will increase today through
Tuesday. Elevated rain chances will continue through much of the
work week as an active weather pattern takes hold of the area.
Rain totals will be highly dependent on where the heavier
thunderstorms move as a few storms will be capable of producing
locally heavy rainfall, especially in areas near the coast.
