Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
1226 AM CDT Thu Aug 28 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Moisture is returning to the area, with rain chances increasing
over the next couple days. Afternoon minimum relative humidities
will be in the 50 to 60 percent range today and greater than
60 percent Friday and Saturday. Much of the area could see 1 to
2 inch rain amounts between now and the end of the weekend, with
locally higher amounts. Winds are expected to remain below 15 mph
outside of thunderstorms, which will limit any fire weather
concerns.
