Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
1128 AM CST Thu Nov 20 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Fog potential will finally decrease some tonight but a very humid
environment will remain in place and there could be a return of
fog this weekend. There will be just a little more wind in place
likely leading to more low clouds than outright fog tonight. This
is ahead of a system moving across the central US which will
remain well north of the region but it will send a weak cold
front into the the Lower MS Valley tomorrow which will likely
stall before it reaches the coast Saturday night or early Sunday.
With a very weak front possibly drifting into the region moisture
may pool along it enough along with lighter winds that we see fog
this weekend. Early next week, another fast moving low pressure
system will try to bring higher rain chances back to the area
from late Monday into Tuesday. The front is expected to stall
along the coast and keep a low threat of rain in the forecast
through Wednesday.
