Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
1128 AM CST Mon Nov 17 2025

.DISCUSSION...

High pressure centered just to the east will remain in place
through Thursday. Surface winds will remain from a southerly
direction, which is helping keep low level moisture levels
elevated. These higher RH values and light surface flow will
limit fire weather concerns from that stand point as min RH`s
should remain around 50%. Conditions look favorable for
widespread dense fog to form tonight, tomorrow night, and
Wednesday night across the entire region. A low pressure system
and cold front will move through the area on Friday. Higher rain
chances will accompany this system on Friday. Conditions should
turn drier and winds will turn more northerly over the weekend as
high pressure builds back in behind the frontal system.
