Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
437 PM CST Mon Nov 24 2025

.DISCUSSION...

A period of active weather with scattered to numerous showers and
storms is expected tonight through Tuesday as a cold front
approaches and moves through the area. Rain amounts will
generally be light with most places receiving one quarter inch or
less. The highest totals are currently forecast across
southwestern MS where around one half inch of rain is forecast.
Behind the cold front, much cooler and drier air will move into
the area for the second half of the week. Afternoon RH values are
currently forecast to drop to near or below 30% both Thursday and
Friday afternoons, but should rise fairly quickly once winds turn
southeastward again on Saturday.
