Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
351 AM CDT Fri May 24 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Surface high pressure centered off the Carolina coast will
sag south toward the Bahamas. This will rotate winds to
southerly, then southwest over the next few days. A weak
inversion may be in place tonight at around 500 feet, with
a bit stronger one near 2000 feet. Minimum RH values will
remain around the 40 to 60 percent range through the weekend.
The next chance of rain for much of the area will be Monday
night or Tuesday, but rain amounts are expected to be light.
