Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
537 AM CDT Sun Aug 9 2026

.DISCUSSION...

No changes as conditions will remain quite typical for Summer
through next week however we will likely see storm coverage
become a little more isolated late in the work week with slightly
warmer temps. For the next few days we will see early morning
storms develop near the coast with that activity pushing inland
through the day before slowly tapering off in the early evening
hours. Winds will be quite light overnight and through the mid
morning hours but around midday and through the afternoon winds
will become more southerly as the seabreeze picks up and pushes
inland. Winds will turn more southwesterly by the middle of next
week. Humidity levels will remain well above any critical
thresholds and fog chances will remain low through the period.
