.DISCUSSION...
Drier air will begin to feed into the area this afternoon and
tonight in the wake of a passing weak cold front. There may be
some light patchy fog development for a few hours in coastal
Misssissippi Thursday morning before the drier air truly moves
in. Once that dry air arrives, minimum RH values will fall into
the 40 to 60 percent range Thursday through Saturday, although
winds should remain generally light. On Saturday, a stronger
reinforcing front will push through the area. This will bring a
much drier airmass into the region with minimum RH values
potentially falling into the 25 to 40 percent range from Sunday
through Tuesday. Although winds should generally remain below
critical thresholds, the combination of lower RH values and
increasingly dry fuels could lead to elevated fire weather
concerns early next week.
