Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
122 PM CDT Mon Aug 10 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Typical summer pattern continues with isolated to scattered
storms the next few days and hot conditions. Thunderstorm
activity will continue be highly diurnal with storms inland
during the day and either gone or over the coastal waters at
night. As we move into the middle of the workweek, high pressure
will begin to have a bigger influence over the area and with that
storm coverage will be suppressed with mainly isolated afternoon
storms. As for other fire weather concerns, light and variable to
calm winds overnight and then winds around 5-10 kts coming out of
the southwest to southeast as the seabreeze develops. Humidity
values will be of no concern with min humidity values generally
remaining in the 40-60% range all week. No critical fire weather
concerns through the forecast period.
