Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
1128 PM CST Wed Nov 12 2025

.DISCUSSION...

High pressure parked over the region will remain in place through
Saturday. Surface winds have transitioned to a more southerly
direction, which is helping more low level moisture to filter
into the region from the Gulf, albeit gradual. Relative humidity
values will increase each day through the rest of the week and
into the weekend. Higher RH values and light surface flow will
limit fire weather concerns through the remainder of the week and
into the upcoming weekend. Conditions also look more favorable
for areas of fog to develop tonight and tomorrow night. The fog
could turn moderate to dense toward sunrise each day over
portions of Southwest Mississippi and inland areas of Southeast
Louisiana to the north and west of Lake Pontchartrain.
