.DISCUSSION...
Today will see continued dry conditions as a broad ridge of high
pressure resides over the area. Minimum RH values will to fall to
between 40 and 60 percent in the afternoon hours and winds will
be light. The seabreeze will develop by the late morning along
the coast leading to a stronger southerly wind of 5 to 10 mph in
the afternoon hours. Tuesday will see similar conditions, but
isolated storms could fire up in the late afternoon in coastal
Mississippi. Wednesday will see the best chance of wetting rains
as a weak low pressure moves through the area and minimum RH will
be higher at 50 to 70 percent. Winds will also turn more easterly
at 5 to 10 mph. The latter portion of the week and into the
weekend, very typical Summer conditions can be expected as broad
high pressure system expands westward from the eastern Gulf.
Light southerly winds of around 5 mph, scattered afternoon
showers and storms, and minimum RH values of 50 to 60 percent are
expected. Fog is not expected to be a concern through the week.
