At 1135 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated a cluster of strong
thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots, weak
waterspouts and small hail. This cluster of thunderstorms is
generally located along a line extending from near Cat Island to 9 nm
east of Lake Borgne, moving east at 45 knots.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Mariners can expect widespread gusty winds to around 30 knots, higher
waves, small hail and dangerous lightning strikes. Boaters should
seek safe harbor immediately until this activity passes.
Brief, weak waterspouts are possible with this activity. Remain on
alert in case warnings are issued for waterspout development.
Report severe weather to the Coast Guard or nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
forecast office.
