...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM OVER THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Coastal Waters from Stake Island LA to Southwest Pass of the
  Mississippi River from 20 to 60 nm...
  Coastal waters from Pascagoula Mississippi to Stake Island
  Louisiana out 20 to 60 NM...

At 623 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were
located along a line extending from 36 nm south of Farewell Buoy to
37 nm east of Pilottown, moving south at 5 knots.

The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and dangerous lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe
harbor immediately until this activity passes.

Report severe weather to the Coast Guard or nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
forecast office.
