A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas...

At 533 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a cluster of strong
thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots, weak
waterspouts and small hail. This cluster of thunderstorms is
generally located along a line extending from 32 nm south of Farewell
Buoy to 40 nm east of Pilottown to 24 nm east of Southwest Pass Of
the Mississippi River, moving northeast at 10 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect widespread gusty winds to around 30 knots, higher
waves, small hail and dangerous lightning strikes. Boaters should
seek safe harbor immediately until this activity passes.

Brief, weak waterspouts are possible with this activity. Remain on
alert in case warnings are issued for waterspout development.

Intense lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
