Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 100 mph Path Length /statute/: 4.13 miles Path Width /maximum/: 200 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 06/04/2024 Start Time: 04:36 PM CDT Start Location: 4 WNW Liberty / Amite County / MS Start Lat/Lon: 31.1781 / -90.8682 End Date: 06/04/2024 End Time: 04:42 PM CDT End Location: 1 N Liberty / Amite County / MS End Lat/Lon: 31.1713 / -90.7995 Survey Summary: An EF-1 tornado embedded in a QLCS formed along Enterprise Rd west of Liberty were a large pine tree was snapped. This tornado then moved eastward towards Toler Ln where it peaked in intensity. Here, a swath of at least 20 pine trees were snapped clean near the base. This tornado then weakened as it moved east over highway 567 where only limbs were noted. The tornado came to the end of its lifecycle near McLain and Meadville Rd where it uprooted more pines and broke off large limbs. .Peoria, MS Tornado... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 100 mph Path Length /statute/: 7.44 miles Path Width /maximum/: 200 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 06/04/2024 Start Time: 04:48 PM CDT Start Location: 3 ENE Liberty / Amite County / MS Start Lat/Lon: 31.1729 / -90.7478 End Date: 06/04/2024 End Time: 05:03 PM CDT End Location: 9 W Magnolia / Amite County / MS End Lat/Lon: 31.165 / -90.623 Survey Summary: This EF-1 tornado embedded in a QLCS formed along Highway 24 east of Liberty. Here, large limbs were broken off an oak tree. The tornado moved to the east-southeast towards Patterson Rd where small limbs were broken and uprooted trees were noted. This tornado strengthened to peak intensity as it moved into a patch of trees just west and on Peoria Rd. Here, large swaths of trees were either snapped or uprooted in a convergent pattern. A tree fell on a home here, but no one was injured. This tornado then paralleled Turner Rd to the south where it coninued to snap and uproot pines. Damage from where a mobile home used to be was noted, but it`s unclear whether it was from the storm. This tornado continued to the east-southeast before lifting soon after snapping a tree along Lower Glading Rd. && EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into the following categories: EF0.....65 to 85 mph EF1.....86 to 110 mph EF2.....111 to 135 mph EF3.....136 to 165 mph EF4.....166 to 200 mph EF5.....>200 mph NOTE: The information in this statement is preliminary and subject to change pending final review of the events and publication in NWS Storm Data. $$
