The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Coastal Waters from Port Fourchon LA to Lower Atchafalaya River LA
  out 20 nm...
  Coastal waters from the Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River to
  Port Fourchon Louisiana out 20 NM...

* Until 815 AM CDT.

* At 646 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing
  waterspouts were located along a line extending from near Isle
  Derniers to 15 nm east of Barataria Bay, moving east at 10 knots.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage
           vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Boaters should avoid waterspouts and never try to navigate near them.
Move to safe harbor or shelter immediately until the threat passes.
