Coastal waters from Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River to Port Fourchon Louisiana from 20 to 60 NM... * Until 745 PM CDT. * At 608 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from 39 nm southwest of Louisiana Offshore Oil Port to 46 nm southeast of Ship Shoal 295, moving east at 25 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves.
