SOUTHERN LIVINGSTON, SOUTH CENTRAL TANGIPAHOA AND SOUTHERN EAST BATON
ROUGE PARISHES THROUGH 745 PM CDT

At 657 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from near Port Vincent to near
Whitehall to 7 miles northeast of Laplace. Movement was south at 20
mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Gonzales, Reserve, Hahnville, Laplace, Walker, Gramercy, Lutcher,
Sorrento, French Settlement, Port Vincent, Killona, Norco, Montz,
Edgard, Garyville, Prairieville, Wallace, Destrehan, Taft, and New
Sarpy.

This includes the following Interstates...
 Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 171 and 173, and
between mile markers 183 and 218.
 Interstate 12 between mile markers 14 and 18.
 Interstate 55 in Louisiana between mile markers 1 and 18.
 Interstate 310 between mile markers 5 and 8.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in New Orleans.

If on or near marine areas, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from
the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be
caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
