...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT PORTIONS OF EASTERN JACKSON
COUNTY THROUGH 445 PM CDT
...
At 413 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Big Point, or near Escatawpa, moving south at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Pascagoula, Moss Point, Escatawpa, Gautier, Wade, Helena, Big Point,
and Hickory Hills.
This includes Interstate 10 in Mississippi between mile markers 64
and 76.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
If on or near marine areas, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from
the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be
caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
