WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW: A trough of low pressure will pass
eastward across Northern Nevada this afternoon, resulting in
elevated precipitation chances. Precipitation chances will be
highest over Eastern Nevada this afternoon. Low temperatures
throughout Northern and Central Nevada tonight will be around five
degrees below normal for this time of year. Here are probabilities
of minimum temperatures of 32 degrees or lower for locations in
Northern and Central Nevada on Sunday, October 12th, 2025:

Elko - 100%
Spring Creek - 100%
Winnemucca - 100%
Ely - 100%
Eureka - 100%
Battle Mountain - 100%
Carlin - 100%
Wells - 90%
Jackpot - 80%
Austin - 65%

Maximum temperatures across Northern and Central Nevada Sunday
afternoon will be about ten degrees below seasonal values. A
cyclone aloft will move southward, just off the west coast of
the United States Monday and Monday night. This upper-level area
of low pressure will turn eastward and make landfall over Central
California Tuesday. South wind gusts near 45 mph are possible in
Central Nevada Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday evening. A Wind
Advisory may be required for Central Nevada Tuesday afternoon into
Tuesday evening.

The aforementioned cyclone aloft will progress northeastward
across the Silver State Tuesday night and Wednesday, before
entering Big Sky Country Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
Periods of precipitation are likely throughout Northern and
Central Nevada Tuesday afternoon through Thursday morning. Snow
levels will start at around 8,000 feet Tuesday afternoon, before
dropping to about 6,000 feet Wednesday night. The majority of this
precipitation will fall Tuesday night.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS: High forecast confidence
regarding scattered showers in Eastern Nevada this afternoon. High
forecast confidence in sub-freezing temperatures in the valleys of
Northern and Central Nevada both tonight and Sunday night.
Moderate forecast confidence regarding strong, gusty south winds
in Central Nevada Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday evening. Moderate
forecast confidence in periods of precipitation in Northern and
Central Nevada Tuesday afternoon through Thursday morning. No
deviations from the NBM model output.

VFR conditions will prevail at all terminals through at least the
next 24 hours. Showers will be in the vicinity of KEKO until about
00Z this afternoon. Showers will be in the vicinity of KENV until
about 02Z this evening.

.FIRE WEATHER...
Temperatures will remain below seasonal values tonight through
Monday night. Strong, gusty south winds are expected in Central
Nevada Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday evening. The next storm
system will impact Northern and Central Nevada Tuesday afternoon
through Thursday morning, resulting in periods of precipitation.
Most of this precipitation will fall Tuesday night.
