Please contact National Weather Service Elko if you have questions or concerns with this forecast. ...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM PDT THIS EVENING... .DISCUSSION...Critical fire weather conditions continue through 10PM this evening due to low relative humidity and breezy southwest winds of 10-20 MPH with gusts up to 35 MPH. Convective build ups, both fire aided and diurnal, over and near the fire zone will continue, but dissipation expected after sunset which could locally enhance wind gusts for a period of time this evening. Winds will relax and shift out of the WNW to NW after 10PM at speeds of 5-15 MPH through Wednesday morning. Wednesday near critical fire weather conditions return as winds shift back to SW at 10AM, with speeds picking up through the afternoon to 10-25 MPH with gusts up to 35 MPH possible. Surface relative humidity will again drop to 10% or lower as winds pick up. Convective build ups will again form over and near the fire zone and could locally enhance winds if they collapse.
