712 FZUS63 KMKX 160145 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 845 PM CDT Sun Jun 15 2025 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... High pressure around 30.2 inches over eastern Ontario canada will allow light northeast to east winds (10 kts or less) to continue overnight. For the northern half of the lake, these winds then turn south and accelerate to 10 - 15 kts throughout Monday, leaving mostly light and variable winds elsewhere. 10 to 20 kt south winds overspread the entire lake late Monday night into early Tuesday (fastest further north) as low pressure around 29.5 inches crosses southern Ontario, bringing chances for thunderstorms. Another low pressure around 29.5 inches approaches from the central Great Plains on Wednesday, with continued thunderstorm chances. The exact trajectory of this low will determine Wednesday`s wind field, but for now the best guess is southerly winds for the south half and easterly winds for the north half of the lake.
