970 FZUS63 KMKX 301341 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 841 AM CDT Thu Jul 30 2026 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... Light and variable winds will take on a southerly component this afternoon as high pressure around 30.0 inches starts to drift toward the Lower Great Lakes. Low pressure around 29.7 inches will track across Iowa Friday and through southern Illinois by Saturday morning. The approaching area of low pressure will bring chances for showers and a few thunderstorms Friday into Saturday. Severe weather is not expected in any of this activity. Breezy northeast winds will develop Saturday and should continue through Sunday afternoon as high pressure of 30.0 inches builds over Lake Superior.
