342 FZUS63 KMKX 041342 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 842 AM CDT Thu Jun 4 2026 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... High pressure of 30.2 inches over the southeastern US will drift east toward the Atlantic today into tomorrow as a low of 29.6 inches over the Central Plains connects to another low of 29.7 inches over southern Manitoba as a cold front between the two tracks east into Friday. Continue to see this low pressure track east across the northern Great Lakes through Friday bringing prevailing southwesterly winds to Lake Michigan along with shower and thunderstorm chances tonight through Friday ahead of the cold front. Then expect the cold front to push through the region later Friday into Saturday bringing additional shower and thunderstorm chances along with a more northwest to westerly wind shift behind it into Saturday. Then winds weaken and become more variable as high pressure around 30.0 inches builds across the region later Saturday into Sunday. Looking ahead to the start of next week will bring an additional low pressure system to develop over the Plains and bring a return of southerly winds to the Upper Great Lakes.
