836 FZUS63 KMKX 131400 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 900 AM CDT Sun Sep 13 2026 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... Light to moderate northwest winds will prevail through today with occasional gusts to 25 knots over the lake this afternoon. Winds ease tonight as high pressure around 30.3 inches moves across the lake into Monday morning. Winds will then increase and veer to south-southwesterly Monday afternoon into Tuesday as low pressure around 29.4 inches develops over Manitoba. Gales appear likely Monday night into the first half of Tuesday. A Gale Watch has been issued for the northern two thirds of the open waters of Lake Michigan. Periods of showers and thunderstorms will accompany the developing low from as early as Monday evening into Tuesday. Winds will trend northerly and weaken behind a cold front Tuesday night into Wednesday.
