OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan
National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI
813 AM CDT Fri Aug 14 2026

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...

Multiple rounds of storms are expected to cross the southern
portion of Lake Michigan into this weekend due to a front that
remains in place south of the lake. Low pressure around 29.7
inches over Kansas will track to the northeast and east toward
southern Lake Michigan into Saturday. This low should help to
increase winds and waves across the southern two thirds of Lake
Michigan into Saturday. Beyond this system, a broad ridge of high
pressure around 30.1 inches will push into the Great Lakes early
next week before another potential system moves through the
region middle of next week.
