159 FZUS63 KMKX 291513 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 913 AM CST Mon Dec 29 2025 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... Low pressure of 29.0 inches currently over northern Lower Michigan will continue to deepen and lift northeastward through today. Northwesterly storm force gusts are already ongoing across the southern third of the lake and are expected to spread from south to north through the morning as low pressure lifts northeastward. A Storm Warning is in effect. This afternoon into this evening, as low pressure exits into western Quebec, storm force gusts will diminish to gale force. A downgrade to Gale Warning will be issued as conditions improve this afternoon and evening. Gales are expected to continue into Tuesday morning. Moderate freezing spray is expected throughout today and into Tuesday morning. A few areas of heavy freezing spray are possible across far northern portions of Lake Michigan today within the strongest winds.Winds will remain northwest and will diminish below gale force Tuesday morning, but will remain brisk through the remainder of the week.
