267 FZUS63 KMKX 091915 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 215 PM CDT Sat May 9 2026 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... Low pressure around 29.5 inches east of Lake Superior this afternoon will move into southern Quebec tonight. Its trailing cold front will continue to move across Lake Michigan this afternoon. Westerly winds ahead of the front will veer west to northwest with the frontal passage. Gusty northwest winds are expected near the western shoreline this afternoon. A backdoor cold front will then sag southward across the lake this evening through tonight, with a period of north to northeast winds behind it. High pressure around 30.3 inches is then expected to move from southern Manitoba on Sunday to over Lake Michigan by Monday morning. Relatively light and variable winds are expected during this period. Low pressure around 29.7 inches should then move east southeast across the region Tuesday, with increasing south to southeast winds ahead of it, veering west to northwest behind it for Tuesday night into Wednesday.
