923 FZUS63 KMKX 111351 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 851 AM CDT Tue Aug 11 2026 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... Light winds will dominate throughout the morning, with a line of severe thunderstorms expected to cross the southern third around midday today. Main hazards with these storms will be strong gusty winds, but an isolated waterspout cannot be ruled out. Light winds are expected to then continue throughout the week, with periodic shower and thunderstorm chances for southern portions of the Lake as weak areas of low pressure follow along a stalled front over the lake. This front finally begins to sag southward through Friday, allowing high pressure around 30.2 inches to build down across the Upper Great Lakes. As the high pressure pushes east this weekend, expect low pressure to develop over the Plains and track across the Great Lakes, bringing increasing southerly winds.
