099 FZUS63 KMKX 101952 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 252 PM CDT Mon Aug 10 2026 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... The stationary front remains over the far southern portion of the lake with light and variable winds due to high pressure around 30.0 inches sitting north of a frontal boundary that is parked over the Corn Belt. Otherwise an unsettled weather pattern has set up over the Upper Great Lakes for the start of this week where weak waves of low pressure will cross the region and produce rounds of thunderstorms at times, primarily over the southern half of Lake Michigan. A few strong storms are expected over the southern 2/3 of the lake tonight and again Tuesday late morning to early afternoon.
