.SHORT TERM /THROUGH THURSDAY/...
Issued at 357 PM EDT Wed Aug 27 2025

Tonight, an upper trough remains over the eastern CONUS, keeping
northwest flow over the Lower Ohio Valley. The surface high,
centered over the Lower Ohio Valley, begins to get pushed off to the
east. This will once again ease winds as diurnal cumulus dissipates.
Strong radiative cooling will allow temperatures to drop into the
upper 40s to upper 50s.

Tomorrow, the upper trough remains over the eastern CONUS, keeping
northwest flow over the CWA with high pressure at the surface. Winds
will begin out of the south and will continue veering all day
towards the north as the center of the high continues moving off to
the east. Temperatures are expected to climb slightly warmer than
today, but still remaining near 80. Louisville and Bowling Green are
expected to be two to three degrees warm than most other locations.

.LONG TERM /THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
Issued at 357 PM EDT Wed Aug 27 2025

Friday, a cold front drops south through southern Indiana and
central Kentucky. Besides some limited cloud cover and a northern
wind shift, the front has increased confidence of a dry arrival.
Soundings show a mid-level stable layer and dry low levels, so
precipitation looks unlikely. High temperatures have trended slightly
warmer over southern Indiana. Most places across southern Indiana
should reach the low 80s, but some may only reach the upper 70s.
Farther south in Kentucky, temperatures are expected to reach
into the mid 80s.

For the weekend, a Great Lakes centered surface high expands into
the Lower Ohio Valley, keeping the forecast dry and mostly sunny.
Temperatures remain 5-10 degrees below normal in the upper 70s to
mid 80s before slightly warming into early next week.

Tuesday and Wednesday have some uncertainty as the models begin to
change, but with northwest flow remaining over the area, there are
some hints that a shortwave type feature could bring low rain
chances for parts of the Lower Ohio Valley. Even with a slight
chances at some point, most of this time will remain dry and sunny.
Temperatures are expected to trend up into the mid 80s by mid week.

.AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 00Z FRIDAY/...
Issued at 140 PM EDT Wed Aug 27 2025

VFR conditions are expected through the forecast period. Surface
high pressure over the region will keep winds light and somewhat
variable. Tonight, remaining cumulus will quickly dissipate.
