Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central Kentucky and Southern Indiana
National Weather Service Louisville KY
353 PM EST Thu Nov 27 2025

.DISCUSSION...Cool and dry weather will continue tonight into the day on
Friday, with winds gradually easing over the next 24 hours as high pressure
moves into the region. Parameters will be relatively supportive for smoke
dispersion on Friday, with weakening winds being the main limiter on vent
rate and ADI values. Saturday into Saturday night, another system is expected
to move across the region. Precipitation may begin as a burst of snow or a
rain/snow mix across southern IN and northern KY Saturday afternoon before
transitioning to rain by late Saturday evening. Cooler temperatures and
unsettled weather will continue over the weekend and into next week.
