829 FZUS61 KBUF 152002 GLFLO Open Lake Forecast for Lake Ontario National Weather Service Buffalo NY 402 PM EDT Sat Aug 15 2026 For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Ontario Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... A 30.2 inch ridge will move east acorss New England tonight. A 29.7 inch low will move southeast from the northern Great Lakes to southern New England tonight through Monday. A warm front will drift northeast across Lake Ontario late Sunday before a cold front sweeps east across the lake Sunday night. Behind the cold front, a trough averaging 29.8 inches should linger over Lake Ontario Monday. A 30.o inch high should build from the Upper Midwest Monday night and traverse Lake Ontario Tuesday. This ridge should exit slowly eastward Tuesday night through Wednesday as a cold front approaches from the northwest. A 30.1 inch high will build across the eastern Great Lakes region Thursday.
