287 FZUS61 KBUF 202102 GLFLO Open Lake Forecast for Lake Ontario National Weather Service Buffalo NY 402 PM EST Thu Nov 20 2025 For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Ontario Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...A 30.3 inch high over the lower Great Lakes will slide out across New England through tonight. A 29.5 inch surface low near James Bay will swing a cold front east across the lake Friday, with a 30.1 inch high building over the Ohio Valley and lower Great Lakes Saturday. A 29.5 inch low will then move from northern Ontario to James Bay Sunday, while pushing its warm front across the lake Saturday night, followed by its trailing cold front Sunday. A 30.2 inch high is forecast to build across the Ohio Valley Monday.
