864 FZUS61 KBUF 120203 GLFLO Open Lake Forecast for Lake Ontario National Weather Service Buffalo NY 1003 PM EDT Tue Aug 11 2026 For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Ontario Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... A weak 29.9 inch high will settle across the Lake through Wednesday morning, before a trough averaging 29.7 inches moves over the Lake Wednesday afternoon where it will linger through Thursday. A cold front then sweeps across the Lake Thursday night, with a 30.2 inch high pressure ridge building in from the upper Great Lakes on Friday, settling over the lower Great Lakes region on Saturday. A low averaging 29.8 inches is expected to approaching the Lake Sunday.
