.DISCUSSION...
Any lingering fog after sunrise will gradually erode by mid
morning.
Light and variable winds will settle into a prevailing southerly
direction later this morning, turning southeast along the Illinois
shore behind a weak lake breeze in the afternoon leading to
increasing humidity and lower mixing heights. Minimum relative
humidity values for inland areas may drop into the 30 to 40
percent range in the afternoon, mainly south of I-88.
Showers then spread into the area, potentially as early as late
this evening, but more likely during the day on Wednesday.
Periodic showers will then continue through Friday across the
area, potentially heavy at times. Cooler and rain-free conditions
are then forecast for the weekend into early next week with high
temperatures in the 60s.
