.DISCUSSION...
Tuesday will feature another day with elevated fire danger with
low RH and gusty south winds. Broken to overcast mid and upper-
level clouds Tuesday morning will gradually clear through the
afternoon hours. A few sprinkles cannot be ruled during the
morning, though chances are under 20 percent. Mixing heights will
be slow to increase through the morning owning to the cloud cover,
but quickly increase to around 3kft early in the afternoon as
clouds depart. Correspondingly, south winds around 10 mph in the
morning will increase to around 15 mph with gusts to around 25 mph
through much of the afternoon hours. RH recovery of 75 to 80
percent tonight will allow RH values to fall to around 30 percent
by noon, with minimum values as low as 25 percent during the
afternoon.
Mostly sunny skies are expected for Wednesday. A cold front
crossing the area during the morning will shift winds from
southwest around daybreak to northwest with gusts around 25 mph
by early afternoon. Dew points will be falling through the
afternoon on Tuesday, with minimum RH values of 45 to 55 percent
expected and values as low as 40 percent possible.
Breezy conditions will continue on Thursday ahead of a likely
period of rain Thursday night into Friday morning. Sharply colder
conditions with additional chances for precipitation are expected
this weekend.
