Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Northern IL and Northwest IN
National Weather Service Chicago/Romeoville IL
351 PM CDT Sat Oct 4 2025

.DISCUSSION...There is an elevated fire danger for Sunday
afternoon when southwesterly winds are expected to gust into the
30 mph range along with minimum relative humidity levels expected
in the 20 to 30 percent range. These weather conditions combined
with the dry fuels may make any fires that ignite difficult to
control.

A cold front will move across the area Monday afternoon into
Monday evening, bringing a chance of showers and a few
thunderstorms. There will be a continued chance of showers
through Tuesday evening. While there may be some isolated heavier
amounts of rain, overall rainfall amounts look to remain light,
with most areas expected to see less than a half inch. There will
be another chance of showers Friday with another above normal
temperature pattern possible next weekend.
