Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Northern IL and Northwest IN
National Weather Service Chicago/Romeoville IL
346 PM CST Sun Nov 16 2025

.DISCUSSION...Northwest winds will quickly diminish with sunset
early this evening. A ridge of high pressure will move across the
area Monday with light northwest winds in the morning shifting to
light southeast in the afternoon. Transport winds will also see
the same light northwest directions shifting to light southeast
in the afternoon. Increasing clouds are expected Monday with a
chance of sprinkles in the late afternoon. There will be a chance
of showers Monday night and Tuesday, especially for areas north of
I-80. A few snow flakes or ice pellets may mix with the rain
showers as they begin Monday evening.

Dry weather is expected Wednesday when another ridge of high
pressure will move across the region resulting in light east to
southeast winds both at the surface and for the transport winds. An
unsettled pattern is expected for late this week into next weekend
with periodic chances for showers.
